Shanaya Kapoor channels retro charm in an ivory-black lehenga and choli-cut blouse

Shanaya Kapoor has turned into quite a desi diva this wedding season, serving one stunning look after another. Her recent outing was all about bringing out her retro side, as she slipped into a Mayyur Girotra couture piece effortlessly and styled it with a mix of traditional and contemporary jewellery.

The actress looked pretty as ever in an ivory-and-black Kutch embroidered lehenga, which featured a beautiful design on the flared skirt. It was given a retro touch with a choli-cut blouse, with cap-sleeves and a keyhole at the back. The ivory base with the black work made it look modern yet rooted in tradition, paired with a woven zari Banarasi dupatta.

For jewellery, Shanaya wore a sleek multicoloured choker, jhumka-style earrings, black bangles, and a bracelet. Her makeup enhanced her natural beauty. She used a warm brown palette to highlight her cheeks and lips and defined her eyes with soft strokes of kajal, with the bindi adding the final touch.

While her beauty game was on point, her sleek hairstyle made her look even more glamorous. She made a clean, simple bun and added a gajra for a more Indian vibe. Her centre-parted hairdo went perfectly with her traditional look.

Describing the fit in detail, the designer wrote, “Every inch of Shanaya Kapoor’s (@shanayakapoor02) ensemble from #INAYAWorld showcases the atelier’s ornate craftsmanship, taking over 600 hours to create. The strapless bustier is exquisitely hand-embroidered with sequins, crystals, and precious stones—layers of needlework forming a jewel-like surface that glows under light. From the skirt to the sheer stole finished with pearl tassels, the craftsmanship is measured not in minutes, but in the quiet devotion of artisans refining each detail by hand.”

With these two contrasting Indian looks, Shanaya proves that she is quite the fashionista, who loves desi but always with a twist. Her sartorial choices have gained significant traction this year, and it only remains to be seen what the future holds for her.
