According to her brother, she suffered an asthma attack during the night. She was in Mexico to celebrate her 25th birthday, which was supposed to be the next day.

Her brother, Charles Burney, confirmed the news of her passing on social media. He expressed deep sorrow and requested privacy for the family as they mourn their loss.
