Anushka Sharma and Rani Mukerji, celebrated for their candidness, were recently featured in a viral clip on social media, discussing airport style. They addressed how many celebrities depend on stylists for their travel outfits, highlighting the challenges of upholding a polished public persona.
In the video clip, during a conversation with Anushka Sharma for India Today, Rani Mukerji humorously commented on the trend of certain stylists dressing celebrities for airport appearances "The stylists who actually dress you up for the airport and I find that hilarious."
Anushka quickly responded to it by saying, “You know how I became relaxed in all of this? It happened when I decided that I am really not going to give a damn about any of this.”
When Rani Mukerji asked Anushka Sharma if she also has a stylist to dictate her airport look, including which bag to carry, Anushka responded with a definitive no and humorously remarked on the concept of an "airport entry" stating, “No, but there are people who make fun of me because I am repeating my bags or I am repeating my shoes and I genuinely don’t care.”
Rani Mukerji shared her thoughts on the challenges of finding a home in Mumbai, noting that it's a tough task. She also expressed the pressure on celebrities to constantly have a variety of outfits ready for new airport looks, highlighting the unrealistic expectations placed on them. "Humare ghar itne chote hote hain toh itne saare bags rakhenge kahan bhai. yeh kyu koi nhi sochta? Itne saare joote rakhenge kahan. Pehen toh sakte hain bhai but rakhenge kahan (Our houses are small so where are we supposed to keep the bags? No one thinks about this but where will we keep so many shoes. We can wear everything per se but where do we keep it), Rani laughed as she made her point.
To this, Anushka humorously adds, “I made my life very simple. I wear black.”
Adding to that Rani humorously questioned the logic of dressing up for the airport when security inevitably makes you remove your belts and shoes. "I always imagine, when they go through the airport security check, those who wear belts or boots, they would have to take it off right? Kitna embarrassing hota hoga na?"
Their open discussion reflects their authenticity and willingness to speak freely about the industry's norms.
Anushka Sharma recently appeared in a cameo for the song "Ghode Pe Sawaar" featured in the psychological drama Qala. Meanwhile, Rani Mukerji received acclaim for her performance in Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway, winning the Best Actress award at the recent IIFA Awards 2024.
