According to Dr Bhanot its primary focus lies in strengthening the deep core muscles that act as the spine’s internal support system. “Movements such as the hundred, pelvic tilts, and leg circles train the abdominal, lumbar, and hip muscles to work together, creating stability that protects the spine during everyday activity.” he informs. Because Pilates emphasises alignment, controlled motion, and symmetrical strength, it is especially beneficial for those with chronic lower-back weakness or postural imbalances. “Each exercise encourages the spine to remain in neutral alignment, preserving its natural curves and reducing strain throughout the day.”
