Vijay's house security breach: Intruder caught hiding on the terrace of the actor-politician's home

A major security breach happened at Tamil superstar Vijay's residence. A 24-year-old man, identified as one Arun, was found sitting on the terrace of the actor's residence.

A major security breach happened at Tamil superstar Vijay's residence. A 24-year-old man, identified as one Arun, was found sitting on the terrace of the actor's residence.

The intruders has been detained by Neelankarai police. According to initial reports coming in, Arun has been mentally unstable for four years. He has been admitted to the Kilpauk Government Mental Health Hospital.

According to NDTV, a senior police officer said: "We have secured the man, found him to be mentally challenged and have admitted him to a mental home."

Police officials said the investigation is underway to know as to how did the man gain entry to the house, which has high security.

Vijay has been granted Y-category security by the Home Ministry and there is protection by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). It is owing to his political profile now and massive fan following of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief.

This incident has raised concerns over security at the home of high-profile personalities in Chennai city.

Previous high profile security breaches 

Though security breaches have happened in the past, but this year film industry saw many high-profile breaches.

In January, actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed during an attempted burglary at his Bandra home. Veteran actor Poonam Dhillon reported jewellery and cash missing at her Khar residence.

Telugu actor Vishwak Sen’s Hyderabad house was burgled on March 16 and later two separate intrusions were stopped at Salman Khan’s Bandra home between May 20–23.

On September 12, multiple shots were fired outside Disha Patani’s ancestral home in Bareilly.

And in Hollywood, Brad Pitt’s Los Feliz property was ransacked on June 25, with a burglary crew arrested in August. Together, these incidents kept celebrity security in headlines across regions.

Listed Below Are Date-wise Breaches:

5 January 2025: Theft discovered at Poonam Dhillon’s Khar (Mumbai) house; items believed stolen between 28 Dec 2024 and 5 Jan 2025.16 January 2025: Saif Ali Khan stabbed during an attempted burglary at his Bandra residence; suspect arrested. He was discharged on 21 January 2025.

16 March 2025: Actor, director Vishwak Sen’s Hyderabad home burgled (cash and diamond jewellery reported stolen); case registered on 17 March 2025.

20 May 2025: Salman Khan: A fan detained after attempting to enter Galaxy Apartments compound.

21 May 2025: A model allegedly reached Salman Khan's Galaxy apartment door. Both the intruders were handled by Bandra Police.

26 May 2025: Aditya Roy Kapur - A 47-year-old Dubai resident trespassed into the Aashiqui 2 actor's Bandra (Rizvi Heights) flat. An FIR was registered by Khar Police on 27 May 2025. A chargesheet was filed later, with statements from the house help and building manager cited by police.

15 July 2025: Kriti Sanon: Security breach at Sandhu Palace, Pali Hill (building also houses KL Rahul and Javed Jaaferi). An unidentified man allegedly entered the premises and damaged the lift; the incident was captured on CCTV.

12 September 2025: Disha Patani: firing outside her Bareilly home (Civil Lines) around 3:45 am; And on 19 September, two more arrests happened; probe linked to Goldy Brar network. The shooters who were injured in the encounter, later died.
