The Deol brothers graced the sets of The Great Indian Kapil show and shared candid insights into their journey, struggles, and eventual triumphs. Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol got emotional as they reminisced about their respective paths in the film industry. They shared how success didn't come easy for them, and they had to brave numerous challenges and setbacks before achieving recognition.
Sunny, known for his iconic roles in films like 'Gadar' and 'Border', opened up about the initial struggles he faced in Bollywood. He reflected on the pressure of carrying forward the legacy of his illustrious father, veteran actor Dharmendra. Despite the high expectations and comparisons, Sunny persevered with determination and dedication, eventually carving his niche in the industry.
“It has been many years during which so many things happened. We were trying our best. Now, after my son's marriage, and with the arrival of a daughter, the atmosphere completely changed. Papa has been here since the 1960s and we have seen a lot in these years. But what happened this time, with all the love we are receiving from people… I didn't know what was happening… as if God revealed himself all of a sudden,” he said.
Similarly, Bobby Deol shared his own journey, acknowledging the ups and downs he encountered throughout his career. From early successes to periods of obscurity, Bobby's resilience shone through as he spoke about his passion for acting and his unwavering commitment to his craft.
“I am happy about the fact that my brother waited for 22 years after 'Gadar'. And in the same year, first it was my father's film ('Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani'), and the role he played, I don't think anyone else could have done it that way. Then my film ('Animal') became a big hit. I see the happiness in my father's eyes today… I remember I returned after a week and papa was busy on Instagram, and he said, ‘Bob, people are crazy for you!’ I said, ‘I am your son! Do they have a chance?’"
Both brothers were visibly moved sharing their journeys. Sunny and Bobby also engaged in a lively game of dumb charades, with Bobby impressively guessing all the films correctly. Adding to the fun, Bobby recreated his iconic 'Jamal Kudu' step alongside comedian Sunil Grover in a hilarious segment. Their camaraderie and playful interactions was yet another highlight of the episode.
