Dheeraj Dhoopar, known for Television serials including Sasural Simar Ka and Kundali Bhagya, has recently announced his Tollywood debut. The actor will soon star in the upcoming Tamil language film, Kalavaram.
Dheeraj took to his Instagram to announce the news with a series of photos. The TV actor shared a series of screenshots of the published news articles about his Tollywood debut. Dheeraj also shared a clip of the scene he shot for Kalavaram in which he looked a bit confused.
He also shared some pictures from the sets of the film and a photo of the clapboard that revealed he had already started shooting for the same in Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad, on March 3. Alongside the photos, Dheeraj captioned the post, “There are so many places you haven’t been yet where you are going to belong.”
Dheeraj is known for his on-screen romance, but he will channel the opposite character in the upcoming film. He will play the antagonist in Kalavaram.
The actor talked about his debut to Hyderabad Times and said, “Telugu films were always on my radar, and now felt like the right time. I play the villain in the film. I've always heard that working in South Indian films is a unique experience, and I'm now witnessing it firsthand.”
Dheeraj also got candid about playing the negative role and shared, “They call actors by their roles ‘villain' for the bad guys and 'hero' for the good guys. It's like being in a script all the time! It's new for me.”

Dheeraj further revealed that the language barrier made him feel restricted, but he was eager to immerse himself and improve his skills.
Directed by Balakrishna Katta, Kalavaram is produced by Shobha Rani under the banner of CLN Media. The film also stars Vijay Kanishka, the son of renowned director Vikraman, in the lead role. The release date of the film is still unknown.
