Telangana CM forms a Cabinet Sub-Committee to address Telugu Film Industry issues amid ‘Pushpa 2’ controversy

1. Special Orders for Key Film Projects: The government has issued special permissions for the filming of eight high-profile projects, including Pushpa 2. Additionally, police grounds have been provided to facilitate smooth shooting operations.

2. New Brand Identity for Tollywood: Aiming to promote Tollywood on a global scale, the government plans to develop a distinct brand identity for the industry, showcasing its cultural richness and creative potential.

4. Tourism and Global Outreach: CM Reddy urged the industry to capitalize on Hyderabad’s competitive edge as a cosmopolitan hub. Furthermore, he revealed plans to attract Bollywood and Hollywood productions to Hyderabad by hosting global film conferences and creating favorable conditions for international collaborations.

BJP leader Amit Malviya accused the Congress-led Telangana government of targeting Tollywood for political gains. He claimed that the administration’s actions, including the demolition of Nagarjuna’s convention center in Hyderabad, were politically motivated.
Malviya further alleged that the government was exerting undue control over the industry to “extract money” from producers and superstars. The controversy has sparked a heated debate, with opposition leaders questioning the government’s intentions.
