At the pre-release event of HIT 3 in Hyderabad on April 27, director SS Rajamouli, who is currently in the news for allegedly filming SSMB29 with Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra, made a big announcement about his eagerly awaited dream project, Mahabharata.
Suma Kanakala, the event's host, asked Rajamouli about the Mahabharata casting during an interesting Q&A session. The audience erupted in cheers and applause when Rajamouli revealed that actor Nani had been cast in the movie.
Rajamouli, renowned for his blockbusters like RRR, has always considered Mahabharata his long-standing dream project.
During the event, when Suma inquired about Nani’s involvement, Rajamouli confirmed, "Only Nani's casting is fixed." This revelation added excitement and anticipation to the already high expectations surrounding the epic project.
In a heartwarming moment, Nani expressed his gratitude to Rajamouli for attending the event, despite his busy schedule. “I texted him requesting him to attend. He was shooting for his film, but I will not say which film this is. I didn’t know if he would come. I felt that I needed to ask and he instantly agreed,” Nani shared.
The actor also spoke fondly of Rajamouli's wife, Rama Rajamouli, saying, "I love you more than him. I am so happy that you are here. You and Valli garu have always given me the 'akka' (sister) vibes. Let’s score a hit with HIT 3."
The grand premiere of HIT 3, directed by Sailesh Kolanu and starring Nani and Srinidhi Shetty, is scheduled for May 1.
At the box office, the movie will compete with Suriya's Retro.

In this third installment of the HIT franchise, Nani will play Arjun Sarkaar, an aggressive police officer. Although Vishwak Sen and Adivi Sesh played the main roles in the first two installments of the HIT series, respectively, Nani's performance in HIT 3 is anticipated to infuse the franchise with new intensity.
