Samantha Prabhu, daughter of Joseph and Ninette Prabhu, was deeply influenced by her father's presence in her life. A Telugu Anglo-Indian, her father played a crucial role in shaping her values and upbringing. Despite her busy career, Samantha frequently expressed gratitude for the unwavering support of her family. The passing of her father has led to an outpouring of sympathy from fans and well-wishers, offering her comfort during this challenging time.

Samantha recently spoke candidly about her "strained" relationship with her father, Joseph Prabhu, and how it impacted her self-esteem. In an interview with Galatta India, she opened up about her challenges in seeking validation and how those struggles shaped her personal growth and journey.

“All my life growing up, I had to fight for validation. My father was kind of like… I think most Indian parents are like that. They think they’re protecting you," she began. Samantha revealed how her father would downplay her abilities. “He actually told me, ‘You’re not that smart. This is just the standard of Indian education. That’s why even you can get a first rank.’ When you say that to a child, I really believed for the longest time that I’m not smart and not good enough."

After the end of Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya's marriage in October 2021, nearly a year later, Samantha’s father, Joseph Prabhu, took to Facebook to share throwback wedding pictures and reflect on the past. He expressed that it had taken him a long time to accept their separation and shared his hope to move forward and start a new chapter in his life.
