Yami Gautam and Emraan Hashmi’s latest film Haq has been showing a steady performance at the box office since its release on November 7, 2025. The courtroom drama has collected a total of Rs 8.85 crore within three days of release.

According to industry tracking websites, Haq collected an estimated Rs 3.75 crore net in India on Sunday, taking its domestic weekend total to Rs 8.85 crore.

The film opened to Rs 1.75 crore on Friday and saw an impressive 91% growth on Saturday, earning Rs 3.35 crore. Over its first two days, the film earned Rs 5.1 crore net in India and Rs 7.50 crore worldwide, showing steady growth over the weekend.

The film also witnessed a noticeable increase in audience occupancy. On Saturday, the Hindi occupancy rate stood at 19.35%, which rose to 23.6% on Sunday. Specifically, on November 9, Haq recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 23.60%.

The breakdown shows that morning shows recorded 9.54%, afternoon shows rose to 24.56%, evening shows saw the highest turnout at 35.98%, while night shows settled at 24.30%. Industry experts are now watching closely to see how the film holds up through the week.

Directed by Suparn Varma, Haq features Yami Gautam and Emraan Hashmi in the lead roles, alongside Vartika Singh, Danish Hussain, and Sheeba Chaddha in pivotal parts. The story dramatizes the historic Mohd Ahmed Khan vs Shah Bano Begum case, one of India’s most significant legal battles that sparked national debate.

It is based on journalist Jigna Vora’s book Bano: Bharat Ki Beti. The plot explores the emotional and legal journey of Shah Bano, a woman who fought for justice after being divorced by her lawyer husband, Abbas, in 1978.

Moneycontrol’s review praised Yami Gautam’s portrayal of Shazia, calling it one of the most heartfelt performances of her career. The review read as, "Yami Gautam gives one of the most heartfelt portrayals of her career. She doesn’t play Shazia as a victim but as a woman rediscovering her self-worth. There’s dignity even in her silence. Her breakdowns aren’t loud; they’re felt in her eyes, in the way she holds herself in moments of unbearable pain. Emraan Hashmi, on the other hand, surprises with restraint. Gone is the swagger often associated with him—his Abbas is conflicted, proud, and deeply flawed."

Produced by Jio Studios and backed by strong word-of-mouth, Haq has managed to spark discussions not only for its courtroom drama but also for its sensitive handling of themes like gender justice and personal dignity. With a mix of emotional storytelling and impactful performances, the film continues to draw both audience interest and critical acclaim as it enters its first full week in theaters.
