Following the tragic Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, Bollywood actor Salman Khan has cancelled a major event in the city. The actor was scheduled to attend the launch of the Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL) today. However, he cancelled the event after the crash.
However, Indian Supercross Racing League organizers announced that the event was cancelled soon after the tragic accident. The founder of the Indian Supercross Racing League, Eeshan Lokhande, has recently issued an official statement and stated that ISRL and Salman Khan stand by the nation in this tough time and have decided to cancel the event.
They apologised for the sudden cancellation and shared that “Somebody will be in touch with you,” regarding the new date of the event.
Salman Khan was scheduled to join ISRL as its brand ambassador. The actor has previously expressed his excitement to be a part of “something I am truly passionate about—motorcycles and motorsports. What ISRL is building is truly revolutionary with a long-term vision.”
The actor added, “The league has immense entertainment value and captures the spirit of igniting passion, showcasing skill, and creating heroes who will inspire the next generation. Together, we're set to make Supercross a household name in India and elevate our riders to the global stage.”
Meanwhile, the Air India flight, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, identified as Air India 171, bound for London, crashed five minutes after take-off from Ahmedabad airport on Thursday afternoon. The aircraft was carrying 242 people, including 230 passengers and 12 crew members.
