Saif Ali Khan stabbing case new updates

The 1,600-page charge sheet filed in the Saif Ali Khan attack case was submitted recently.

According to it, the fingerprint evidence taken from inside Saif's home did not match those of the primary suspect, Bangladeshi national Shariful Islam Shehzad, according to the Bandra police's thorough investigation.

The chargesheet reports the discovery of 20 latent fingerprint samples in various locations within the flat where the alleged assault took place.

These were sent to the Fingerprint Bureau of the State CID for forensic examination. Nevertheless, the report now unequivocally claims that none of the samples fit Shehzad or Shahid Shabbir Sayyed, the co-accused.

As per the chargesheet, the fingerprints found on the black bathroom door, bedroom sliding door, and closet door didn't match with Shariful's fingerprints. The lone fingerprint that matched the accused was found on the eighth story of the building.

According to Mumbai police sources, the likelihood of fingerprints matching is one in 1000 due to multiple people touching and using the same object, making fingerprints not reliable evidence.

Last week, the Mumbai Police filed chargesheet at the Metropolitan Magistrate Court in connection with the stabbing of Saif Ali Khan. The chargesheet, which is reportedly 1000 pages long, includes various pieces of evidence against the accused, Shariful Islam.

The chargesheet reportedly contained data from facial recognition tests, fingerprint records, an identification parade report, and forensic lab findings.

The police also opposed the accused's bail request in the case, informing the Mumbai court that the knife fragment lodged near the actor's spine and found at the scene of the crime matched the weapon recovered from the accused, Mohammad Shariful Islam.

Saif Ali Khan was stabbed multiple times by an intruder at his Mumbai home in the wee hours of January 16.

According to reports, the event occurred about 2 a.m., when the actor heard noises following the attack on one of his female staff in Jeh's room. This provoked Saif to interfere, resulting in a confrontation between the actor and the burglar, inflicting serious injuries on Saif.
