Veteran Kannada actor Harish Rai, who became well-known across the country for playing Khasim Chacha in the KGF movie, passed away on Thursday, November 6. He was 55.

The actor reportedly passed away after more than a year of fighting stage 4 thyroid cancer. Several celebs from the film industry paid tribute to the veteran actor.

KGF superstar Yash was spotted at Harish Rai’s funeral and paid his last respects. However, a video from the funeral is now going viral on social media. In the video, Yash is seen comforting the actor's distraught son.

The video has been shared on Instagram in which Yash arrived with his hands folded to offer his final respects. He sported a white shirt. The KGF actor was spotted standing next to his son Roshan after placing a large garland on top of Rai's glass coffin. Yash hugged the grieving boy close as he spoke and cried while sharing his emotions.

Harish Rai was reportedly receiving treatment at Bengaluru's Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar confirmed the news of Harish's passing.

The Deputy CM expressed his sympathies on X and wrote, “The passing away of Harish Rai, the renowned villain actor of Kannada cinema, is an extremely sorrowful event. The film industry has become poorer with the death of Harish Roy, who was suffering from cancer.”
