Social media sensation Rakhi Sawant has extended her heartfelt congratulations to Pakistani actress Hania Aamir and singer-turned-actor Diljit Dosanjh, amidst the ongoing backlash surrounding their upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3.
The use of a Pakistani performer in the movie has caused controversy, with a number of Indian entertainment industry voices expressing disapproval.
Rakhi has decided to show her unwavering support for the movie and its cast in spite of the controversy.
Taking to Instagram, Rakhi posted snippets from Sardaar Ji 3 and penned a warm message for both Hania and Diljit. “Congratulations my sweetheart. Hania Ameer. I’m so happy. Finally, you are in Bollywood films. Congratulations Diljit 'Sardaar Ji 3' ,” she wrote, sharing her enthusiasm over Hania’s Bollywood debut.
Encouraging her followers to embrace the film, Rakhi added, “Everyone should watch this movie. 'Sardaar Ji 3'. Hania Ameer, she’s doing debut. Everyone should appreciate her. She’s my favourite. All the best. Congratulations Hania. Allah bless you.”
Her support comes as the movie has been the subject of criticism from industry insiders like singers Mika Singh and B Praak, who have criticised the producers for choosing a Pakistani actor.
Recent political tensions between India and Pakistan have exacerbated the problem even more.

The makers of Sardaar Ji 3 responded to criticism by releasing a formal statement in which they said that the decision to sign Hania Aamir was made long before the tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam. They also noted that the film had already been made before the two countries' hostilities escalated, indicating that the production preceded the current events.
In an interview with BBC Asian Network, the film's director, Diljit Dosanjh, also discussed the controversy. Declaring that the situation is now "beyond their control," he defended the producers and the project's circumstances.
Despite not being released in India, Sardaar Ji 3 is set to premiere overseas on 27th June.
