Vashu Bhagnani and Jackky Bhagnani of Pooja Entertainment have lodged a complaint against director Ali Abbas Zafar, accusing him of misappropriating subsidy funds received from the Abu Dhabi authorities during the filming of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.
Reports have emerged regarding alleged non-payment by the producers since last evening, leading to a complaint filed at Bandra Police Station on September 3, 2024.
The complainants have accused Ali Abbas Zafar, Himanshu Mehra, Ekesh Ranadive, and others of various serious offenses, including fraud, cheating, misappropriation of funds, criminal conspiracy, money laundering, and harassment. These allegations arise from their roles in the production of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.
Furthermore, Bhagnani alleged that despite receiving assurances, the accused mishandled contracts, did not provide accurate financial records, and requested unauthorized payments.
Following this, the police are expected to summon director Ali Abbas Zafar soon. According to Dainik Bhaskar, on September 22, Ali Abbas had accused Vashu Bhagnani of failing to pay him Rs 7.30 crore for Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.
FWICE requested Zafar to present evidence to support his claims regarding unpaid dues. In the meantime, the director has opted not to make any public statements, reportedly to steer clear of media scrutiny that could potentially delay his payment further.
Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, featuring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, has disappointed both audiences and critics alike. Released on April 11, the film turned out to be a significant box office failure. With a hefty budget of ₹350 crore, it only managed to gross around ₹100 crore.
