Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, and Jack Black are all set to kick off another thrilling adventure in Jumanji 3. The makers have released the first picture of the cast in costume, teasing the beginning of the production.
The first look image and release date were shared on the official social media handle of the Jumanji movie. The caption reads, “Look who’s on the loose #JumanjiMovie is coming exclusively to theatres Christmas 2026.”
This came after Dwayne shared a behind-the-scenes video as he made his way to the Universal Studios set. The actor said in the video, “A little day one of Jumanji excitement. So good to be shooting in Los Angeles. I have not shot a film in Los Angeles in I don’t know when, so it feels so good to bring a production back home to Los Angeles.”
The actor said, “This is the dice from the original Jumanji with Robin Williams as a show of respect and a way of honoring Robin and this entire franchise that he started as we film our very last Jumanji.”
The untitled third movie comes after Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) and Jumanji: The Next Level (2019), which successfully revived the franchise that Robin Williams had previously led in the 1995 adaptation of Chris Van Allsburg's novel.
For the new chapter, director Jake Kasdan is back, co-writing the script alongside Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner. On December 11, 2026, the film is slated to open in theatres.
Nick Jonas, Alex Wolff, Morgan Turner, Ser’Darius Blain, Madison Iseman, Lamorne Morris and Danny DeVito are all set to reprise their characters in the highly anticipated film.
