In a significant move for streaming services in India, Prime Video has announced the launch of Apple TV+ as an add-on subscription on its platform. Starting today, Prime Video customers in India can easily subscribe to Apple TV+ for INR 99 per month, gaining access to a diverse selection of critically acclaimed Apple Originals directly through their Prime Video accounts.
The new collaboration brings a range of popular and award-winning content to Prime Video users, including hit series like The Morning Show, Slow Horses, Severance, Silo, Hijack, Ted Lasso, Shrinking, and Presumed Innocent. In addition, subscribers can enjoy a growing library of Apple TV+ films and documentaries, with new releases dropping weekly.
The integration of Apple TV+ into Prime Video’s offerings reflects Amazon's commitment to providing an expansive entertainment experience for its Indian audience. Prime Video India already offers a wide range of international and Indian Original content, along with 75,000+ hours of additional movies and shows through over 25 add-on subscription partners. This includes services like Lionsgate Play, Discovery+, Crunchyroll, and others.
Gaurav Bhasin, head of marketplace for Prime Video India, commented on the launch, emphasizing the ease of accessing Apple TV+ alongside Prime Video’s vast catalog. With a seamless app experience, Prime members can now discover content, build unified watchlists, and manage billing in one place.
Eddy Cue, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Services, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating that the company was excited to offer its award-winning content to more viewers in India. This marks the continuation of Apple TV+’s expansion, already available as an add-on in the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and parts of Europe and Latin America.
As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance its content offerings, Prime Video is poised to offer Indian users a unique combination of local and global entertainment, with Apple TV+ now forming a key part of this growing ecosystem.
