Pakistani actress Hania Aamir has extended her support to Indian YouTuber Apoorva Mukhija, popularly known as The Rebel Kid, who has been facing a barrage of online abuse and threats following the controversy surrounding Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent. The backlash began after inappropriate comments made by Ranveer Allahbadia, aka BeerBiceps, on the show, which triggered widespread outrage.
Amid the storm, Apoorva had initially wiped her Instagram clean but made a powerful return on Tuesday with the message: “Don’t take away the story from the storyteller.” She also shared shocking screenshots of disturbing messages she had received, including rape and acid attack threats. “And that’s not even 1 percent,” she wrote in the caption, highlighting the intensity of the hate.
Hania Aamir, known for her bold and empathetic stance, amplified Apoorva’s voice by resharing a video posted by Sufi Motiwala—Apoorva’s close friend—who condemned the hateful messages. Hania directly addressed the trolls and said they deserved a “special place in hell,” making her position crystal clear.
Apoorva’s post drew overwhelming support from fans and fellow creators. One follower commented, “We don’t deserve the story, but you deserve the love.” Abigail Pande wrote, “People doing exactly what they claimed to have a problem with! More power to you.” Krystle D’Souza wrote, “This is heartbreaking But I’m glad you’ve put this up. more power to you.”
The controversy stemmed from a moment on the show where Allahbadia reportedly made an offensive Rs 2 crore offer and posed a vile question: “Would you watch your parents have s*x every day for the rest of your life or join once to stop it forever?” The incident has since sparked legal concerns and widespread condemnation.
As voices of support grow louder, Hania Aamir’s stand reflects the power of solidarity across borders in standing up against online harassment.
