Superstar Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan made an explosive debut at the box office and ranked nearly ₹250 crore in theatres and now the latest buzz is around it's OTT debut.
According to an interview of Trade Analyst, Ramesh Bala with Hindustan Times, Vettaiyan is likely to release on November 7.
He said, "Vettaiyan released in theatres on October 10 and usually 99% Tamil films release on OTT after four weeks of theatrical release. Vettaiyan has also not been released in Hindi in multiplexes which means that the eight-week window period doesn’t apply for this film. In this scenario, Vettaiyan is likely to release on November 7 on Amazon Prime Video which has bought the OTT rights. However, since the movie is still in theatres, the official news about the OTT release will be shared only a day or two before the release date."
Vettaiyan is a 2024 Indian Tamil-language action drama film directed by T. J. Gnanavel and produced by Subaskaran Allirajah's Lyca Productions.

The plotline of Vettaiyan revolves around Athiyan, a Superintendent of Police in the Kanyakumari district, who is a well-known encounter specialist dubbed "Vettaiyan" for his ability to take down criminals with the help of his team and "Battery" Patrick, a tech-savvy former thief turned police informer who loves Horlicks. Athiyan receives a complaint from Saranya, a middle-school teacher in Pechipaarai, about marijuana being stored in classrooms, which has led to student drug abuse and disrupted classes. Acting on this tip, Athiyan and his team arrest Kumaresan, the man behind the drug operation, and kill him in an encounter, gaining public approval but attracting the attention of the human rights commission. Justice Sathyadev attends the hearing for the encounter case, where the court ultimately rules it justified. Meanwhile, Saranya grows closer to Athiyan's family before being transferred to Chennai.
The film stars Rajinikanth as Athiyan. The cast also includes Amitabh Bachchan in his Tamil debut, along with Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, Rohini, Rao Ramesh, Abhirami, and Ramesh Thilak.
