Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira (OKCK), Malayalam film starring Fahadh Faasil and Kalyani Priyadarshan, is ready for its digital release. The movie, which will be available in Malayalam as well as dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada, will start streaming on Netflix on September 26.
The comedy-drama, which was written and directed by Althaf Salim, who is best known for his debut film Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela, was released in theaters on August 29 as part of the Onam lineup.
According to trade reports, the movie received mixed reviews and did poorly at the box office despite generating a lot of buzz before its release.
The plot is all about Aby (Fahadh Faasil) and Nidhi (Kalyani Priyadarshan), a couple whose wedding preparations are derailed by an unanticipated accident, setting off a chain of peculiar and disorderly incidents.
Lal, Vinay Forrt, Suresh Krishna, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Babu Antony, Noby Marcose, and Vineeth Vasudevan are among the ensemble cast members of the Ashiq Usman-produced movie. Production designer Ashwini Kale, composer Justin Varghese, editor Nidhin Raj Arol, and cinematographer Jinto George are all part of the technical team.
While reviews noted tonal inconsistencies and a narrative that felt cluttered with too many detours, critics praised the cast and the film's lighthearted tone. "With its fun vibe and stellar cast, OKCK could have been the dark horse of the season, but it somehow limps its way to the finish line," one critic summarized. OKCK now has another opportunity to reach a wider audience outside of theaters thanks to its OTT release.
Along with this film, Kalyani Priyadarshan’s Lokah hit the screens and the film has become a blockbuster hit. The film is still running successfully at the theaters and the makers recently announced that it will not be on the OTT any soon.
