Celina Jaitly, an actress and former Miss India, has made a heartfelt plea to the media, asking them to refrain from reporting on her children in relation to her ongoing legal disputes.
Celina called herself "a mother with a broken heart" in a heartfelt Instagram post on Thursday, asking for sympathy during what seems to be one of the most trying times in her life.
Her message, written in bold capital letters, was directed straight at the press:
“DEAR MEMBERS OF THE MEDIA, I HUMBLY REQUEST YOU TO PLEASE REFRAIN FROM USING MY CHILDREN’S PHOTOGRAPHS IN ANY NEWS COVERAGE REGARDING MY LEGAL CASES.
I WILL BE FOREVER GRATEFUL FOR YOUR SENSITIVITY AND UNDERSTANDING. A MOTHER WITH A BROKEN HEART CELINA JAITLY”
The post arrived just as Celina’s domestic violence case against her estranged husband, Austrian entrepreneur Peter Haag, came up for hearing in a Mumbai court.
Her court documents contain a number of extremely upsetting accusations that paint a picture of a marriage characterised by trauma, conflict, and extreme emotional strain.
Celina describes years of alleged emotional, physical, sexual, and verbal abuse in her petition under the Domestic Violence Act. She claims that she eventually left Austria out of fear for her safety. The information spans several nations, including Italy, Dubai, Singapore, and Austria, and details incidents of fury, careless behaviour during her pregnancy, and constant verbal abuse.
One of the most painful claims is the allegation that Haag mocked her appearance, allegedly telling her she “looked like his maid.” Celina further asserts that she faced physical violence even during pregnancy and postpartum recovery, including being pushed out of their apartment shortly after her C-section.
Financial control features heavily in her filings. She alleges she was pressured into abandoning her film career, resulting in massive professional losses, and that her finances and assets were accessed without consent.
Her petition also describes the emotional vulnerability she experienced in 2017—after losing both her parents and one of her newborn twins—alleging that Haag manipulated her into transferring rights to her Mumbai flat during that period.
Another heartbreaking aspect is Celina’s claim that she had restricted or supervised access to her children once the legal disputes began.

Her lawyer states she eventually fled Austria with nothing but the clothes she had, desperate to remove herself from what she describes as an unsafe and isolating environment.
Celina and Peter married in 2010 and have three sons—Winston and Viraaj, born in 2012, and Arthur, born in 2017. Their other newborn son, Shamsher, tragically passed away shortly after birth.
As of now, Peter Haag has not released any public statement responding to the allegations.
