Naga Chaitanya finally breaks silence on his engagement to Sobhita Dhulipala: Perhaps a countdown to my marriage

Naga Chaitanya created a buzz on social media Tuesday with a video of him dressed as a groom, leading fans to speculate that he might be getting married. The excitement, however, was related to the actor's role in launching a wedding collection for a clothing brand. At the event, Naga Chaitanya joked, “Perhaps you could think so, that it’s a countdown kinda for my marriage,” but he kept the details about the wedding date and venue under wraps.

When questioned if his groom’s outfit was a rehearsal for his upcoming wedding, Naga Chaitanya playfully hinted it could be. He also addressed his preferences for the wedding size, saying, “Marriage is about the people who mean a lot to me. It doesn’t have to be a big fat wedding but people keeping up with the cultures and traditions in mind, so that’s how I want it (marriage) to be.”

Naga Chaitanya clarified that the specifics of the wedding date and location have not been finalized yet. He and Sobhita Dhulipala got engaged on August 8 in a private ceremony at his home. To announce their engagement, the couple shared a poetic message: “What could my mother be to yours? What kin is my father to yours anyway? And how did you and I meet ever? But in love our hearts are as red earth and pouring rain: mingled beyond parting,” a verse from Kurunthogai, translated by A.K. Ramanujan.

Naga Chaitanya’s father, Nagarjuna Akkineni, also welcomed Sobhita into the family via social media. Nagarjuna explained in a previous interview with Times Now that the engagement date was chosen for its auspiciousness, stating, “Both families consulted the Nakshatras, and when we were told August 8 was a very auspicious day, we decided to go ahead with it.”
