For the first time, senior actor Naga Babu opened up about his daughter Niharika Konidela's personal life, discussing the reasons behind her divorce and offering insights into his parenting.

Beyond the shadow of the legendary Konidela family, Niharika has carved out a niche for herself in Telugu cinema. In 2020, she married Chaitanya Jonnalagadda. However, three years later, the couple broke up. Despite being discreet and polite, their decision to split up generated a lot of conjecture among fans and the media.

Naga Babu offered insightful commentary in an interview with Deccan Chronicle, admitting his part in the failed marriage. "We made a mistake by not properly evaluating her marriage," he acknowledged. "The marriage was not forced upon us. She agreed to the proposal when it came up, and we thought it was a wise decision. Unfortunately, they couldn't agree, so they decided to split up.

The actor made it clear that he never put any pressure on Niharika and Chaitanya to maintain their relationship just for show. He expressed his support for their decision to put their own happiness ahead of social norms when he said, "Since they were not happy and chose to part ways, I respected their decision."

Naga Babu was upbeat about the possibility that Niharika would think about getting married again. He stated that although his daughter is currently focusing her energies on her career and filmmaking, he thinks she might eventually find the right man and decide to get married once more.

Naga Babu talked about his son Varun Tej's marriage to actress Lavanya Tripathi and how he approached the match with careful consideration. "My first thought when Varun said he wanted to wed Lavanya was, 'Will you be happy with her?' Do you think there will be any conflicts in the future?" I gave my approval for their union after Varun assured me with confidence that he was happy. They are now happy together, proving that his decision was the right one.
