Met Gala 2024: Camila Cabello turns heads with her beautiful metallic gown and her icy cold clutch

The Met Gala is basically what tech summits is to IT geeks. The craziest, most innovative inventions are set to display, and the Met Gala does not play around.

This year’s Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute's exhibition was based on the theme, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” with the dress code being "The Garden of Time.” And surely enough, the A-list attendees put an extravagant display of their extravagant artistic collaborations with luxury designers and fashion moguls.

The “Havana” singer, Camila Cabello’s absence at the previous year’s Met Gala didn't go unnoticed. But today, she unquestionably validated the anticipation. Embracing her Cuban heritage, the singer graced the red carpet in an ensemble that offered a truly distinctive take on this year's theme: The Garden of Time.

Cabello showcased a lace-up v-neck metallic gown by Ludovic de Saint Sernin, with a skillfully distressed hem. The singer, during an interview with E! spoke about her dress in more detail. She revealed that her lustrous gown took over 450 hours to make and that the gown weighed over 15 pounds (around 6 kgs). But what's more? The gown was emblazoned with around 250,000 Swarovski crystals. "It's very, very heavy,” said Camila.

The Cuban artist also had a very interesting accessory, her clutch. A solitary rose trapped within a block of ice, reminiscent of the one depicted on the gala invitation. Its intention was to fuse with her body warmth, gradually melting as she ascended the carpeted stairs, until she would be left holding the rose.

“I can't feel my hands.” The artist explained, also stating that she would hand it off to another person upon reaching the summit of the stairs.

Cabello’s blonde hair further complemented her glimmering gold dress, while also opting for a golden, misty makeup look for the event.

Her latest album C,XOXO!’s release date was announced as June 28 of this year by Camila herself on the very same day she attended the biggest night in fashion.
