In the world of social media, even the smallest resemblance can spark significant attention. This is precisely what happened recently when some fans of BTS' V, also known as Kim Taehyung, noticed an uncanny similarity between the artist and an Instagram-famous baby named Kim Suho. The baby, a Korean-Filipino, has been garnering immense attention from Instagram users, but not all of it has been positive.
On May 28, 2024, the mother of Kim Suho shared childhood pictures of her husband on Instagram, highlighting the resemblances between him and their baby. This post inadvertently caught the attention of the BTS ARMY, who were quick to point out the striking similarities between Kim Suho and BTS' V. The baby’s facial features sparked a flurry of comments suggesting a connection between the two, much to the displeasure of some fans.
The comments ranged from innocent observations to accusations directed at the mother, claiming she was trying to leverage her baby's resemblance to the famous K-pop star to gain more attention and followers. This led to a heated debate among fans and followers on social media platforms.
The escalating situation prompted Kim Suho's mother to address the rumours head-on. She made a post clarifying that the claims were baseless and that her husband, who is 50 years old, prefers not to have his current photos posted online. She emphasised that her child has no relation to Kim Taehyung and requested fans to stop making inappropriate comments that could potentially harm their lives and careers.
Her statement aimed to put an end to the unnecessary speculation and to protect her family's privacy. She reiterated her hope that people would respect her and her family, especially given the unwarranted scrutiny they were facing.
Following her clarification, many BTS fans apologised on behalf of those who had made the accusations. They also began posting positive comments about Kim Suho and expressed their support for his mother.
As for BTS' V, he is currently fulfilling his mandatory military service in South Korea, which has temporarily paused his activities as a K-pop idol. Despite his enlistment, he managed to release an English digital single titled 'FRI(END)S' along with its music video.
V made his debut as a member of BTS, which includes RM, J-Hope, Jimin, Jungkook, Jin, and Suga. In 2023, he officially debuted as a solo artist with the album 'Layover', supported by pre-release singles 'Love Me Again' and 'Rainy Day'.
