Emraan Hashmi recently reflected on his past feud with Mallika Sherawat, his co-star from the 2004 erotic thriller Murder. During an interview with a portal, Emraan Hashmi looked back at their turbulent relationship and shared his thoughts on how they have both moved past that phase.
He stated, "We were young and stupid at that time. You go through a phase in your life when your decision-making power is so limited that and you’re just so impulsive. Some mean things were said by her and some by me. But those are all bygones. We kept all of that aside. It was long back. It was very nice seeing and meeting her. She was very warm and so was I. She’s a co-actor I wish I could have worked again with."
Hashmi recounted a recent reconciliation with Sherawat at an event, where he expressed his interest in working with her again. Their initial feud began after the release of Murder during which they exchanged harsh comments that strained their professional relationship. However, he emphasized that they have both grown since then and have moved beyond their past differences.
“It was very warm and cordial. I saw her after a very long time. I don’t think we had an encounter like in a long time. I had her a couple of times after the release of Murder,” Hashmi added,
Hashmi and Sherawat's breakout hit, Murder directed by Anurag Basu, captivated fans with their sizzling on-screen chemistry. Despite the movie's success, their relationship soured as they publicly criticized each other, creating a rift that lasted for years.
Reflecting on the past, Hashmi acknowledged the impulsive nature of their actions and comments during that period, attributing it to their youth and inexperience. Now, he appreciates the warmth and cordiality they shared during their recent meeting, expressing regret that they never had the chance to work together again after "Murder."
Meanwhile, on the work front, Emraan Hashmi is set to appear in the upcoming project Showtime which has generated considerable anticipation among his fans. As both actors continue their careers, Hashmi's candid reflections on his past with Sherawat highlight a journey of growth, maturity, and reconciliation.
