Actor Shreyas Talpade will soon be seen in the psychological thriller 'Kartam Bhugtam', which is all set to release on May 17. The actor, who has been a part of many hit films and is loved for his fun characters like Laxman Prasad in the Golmaal series, got candid with Moneycontrol.com about his role in the movie 'Kartam Bhugtam' and many more.

While talking to him about Kartam Bhugtam, which is directed by Soham Shah, he said that over the period of time and during the course of working together, they became good friends.

He had once rejected a role offered to him by Soham in one of his earlier films. When prodded, Shreyas said that in our industry, if an actor says no to a director, then he or she is unusally blacklisted.

"I want to thank Soham because usually when an actor says no to a particular director, he is usually blacklisted most of the time. Yaar aise kaise na bol diya itna bada ho gaya kya, and of course, if you do it at the beginning of your career, then all the more reason. But Soham took it in a positive manner, and we had a chat about it, and he said there were no issues. Of course, a director says he has no issues, but he has issues. Luckily, Soham did not have those with me, and we were pretty much in touch. Not regularly, but we were in touch. We were in touch and spoke two, three times," he told moneycontrol.com.

Further talking about how Soham gives respect to the actor, Shreyas said: "I have been wanting to work with him, and there is certain quality in his stories that you want to be a part of. Even though Luck might not have worked wonders at the box office, we cannot forget or ignore that film. I said I wanted to work, then he came up with ‘Kartam Bhugtam’, and if you don't like it, you can say no, but he narrated the one line, which was interesting, and when he told me the entire story, there was no way I could have said no to this one. So finally, I got an opportunity to work with him. In the process, we bonded well, and he is receptive to ideas and suggestions. He will not outright say no to them; he will try and make sure that he incorporates them in some way or another and keeps the structure intact. So he gives you that respect, which every actor feels they should have. He will not take you for granted. That has helped us bond better. Now we are extremely close friends. I won't expect him to cast me in every film of his. I genuinely feel good for him and want success in life. He hasn't gotten his due in the field."

Talking about his movie 'Kartam Bhugtam', Shreyas said Soham initially told him only the title, and this got him interested, and when he heard the entire story, he immediately said yes.

"Kartam Bhugtam is an entertainer, but in a different space. It is a psychological thriller, and it is a story about this boy who comes from New Zealand back to his town for what may be a week or 10 days to finish off his work and go back. And then there is this astrologer who, out of the blue, tells him you won't be going back. And he is not really a non-believer, but he is not too much into astrology. He thinks about bullshit, and then he is not able to go. What happens to this person? He gets into this whole web of astrology, and whether he can get out of it or not is what all this story is about. So, it is an interesting thriller told in a very nice manner. Very original story by Soham, very able and fantastic director. I genuinely hope they like it. The audience will give its final verdict when it releases," he further said.

Ask him if he believes in karma and that everything you do comes back. Shreyas says yes, he does believe in God and doing good in life.

"I firmly believe yes, because there are so many things that keep happening, and I just want to tell you the fact that yes, as a person, you have to do your job. But everything is written for you; there is a certain course of life in which you keep making certain decisions that lead you to the life you are leading. So, I believe in God. I believe that if you do good, then achcha hoga. Eventually, you experience the fact that jo achcha kiya tha woh achcha ho raha hai. What we have been taught since ages ki aap achcha karm karo uska phal bhi achcha hi milega."

Shreyas will be seen with Vijay Raaz in the film 'Kartam Bhugtam'.
