Singer Mika Singh recently took to Instagram to respond to actor Siddharth's comments about the promotional success of Allu Arjun's film Pushpa 2: The Rule. Siddharth's remarks, which he made during an interview on YouTuber Madan Gowri’s podcast, suggested that the large crowds drawn by the film's promotions in Patna were merely a marketing gimmick.
Mika Singh shared Siddharth's statement on his Instagram stories, and added a sarcastic comment that implied the controversy had increased Siddharth's visibility. Mika wrote: "Hello Siddharth bhai, aapke iss comment pe ek baat achhi ho gayi hai ke, ke aaj se logo ko thora bohat aapka naam pata chal gaya hai, socho abhi tak tau mujhe bhi ni pata ki aap kya karte hai." (Hello Siddharth, one good thing to come out of your comment is that from today, people will know your name a little bit; just think, even I don't know yet what you do."
Siddharth had downplayed the significance of the crowds gathered during the promotions of Pushpa 2: The Rule, dismissing it as a common occurrence in India. "That’s all marketing. It’s not a big deal to gather a crowd in India. You bring a JCB for construction and crowds will gather automatically. So it’s not a big deal getting a crowd in Bihar," he had said.

He further compared the promotional event to political rallies, suggesting that such crowds do not necessarily indicate the quality of the event or film, "In India, there’s no connection between gathering a large crowd and quality. If that was the case, then all the political parties would be winning. In our days, these crowds used to be about getting biriyani and a quarter packet (alcohol)."
Mika Singh is not the first person to defend Pushpa 2: The Rule. Recently, actress Janhvi Kapoor also spoke out in support of the film amidst reports that it had taken over all IMAX screens, preventing the re-release of Christopher Nolan's Interstellar in India. Janhvi pointed out, "Pushpa 2 is also cinema. Why are we so obsessed with idolising the west and running down things that come out of our own country and instantly disqualifying it from being considered as worthy? The same rooted representation and larger than life tone other countries appreciate and are fascinated by our cinema for, we ourselves are embarrassed of Sad."
Directed by Sukumar and starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, Pushpa 2: The Rule has been a significant success since its release on December 5, with paid premieres on December 4. The film has grossed over Rs 1000 crore worldwide within six days of its release, showcasing its massive appeal and the strong fanbase of Allu Arjun.
