Siddharth, who is best known for Rang De Basanti, and Abhay Verma, known for Munjya, have collaborated for the highly anticipated upcoming Netflix original series Operation Safed Sagar.

The streaming giant has created a buzz among the fans by dropping the first teaser for the show, which is based on the actual events of Operation Safed Sagar, a crucial mission that the Indian Air Force (IAF) carried out during the Kargil War in 1999.

The teaser has been shared on the official social media handles of Netflix with the caption, “The world’s highest air operation in history. The highest honour. Watch Operation Safed Sagar, coming soon, only on Netflix.”

Notably, the teaser begins with eye-catching images of hangars and runways dotted with fighter jets from the Soviet era, such as the MiG-21, before cutting to thrilling aerial scenes. Awe-inspiring footage of fighter planes taking off in formation, gliding through the clouds and rocky mountain terrain, and then exploding with precision bombs is shown to viewers.

Safed Sagar, which is directed by Oni Sen of Asur fame, will explore the story of the Indian Air Force's historic 47-day mission to expel Pakistani forces from Indian positions along the Line of Control. With precision airstrikes and the collaboration between the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force, the series will highlight the valour and strategic prowess of the Indian Armed Forces.

Operation Safed Sagar promises to depict how well the Indian Army and Air Force coordinate during a high-stress situation. Commencing on May 26, 1999, the operation continues to rank among the most important moments in both India's and Pakistan's histories.

Siddharth, Jimmy Shergill, Abhay Verma, Mihir Ahuja, Taaruk Raina, and Arnav Bhasin are among the main cast members of the series, which was created by Abhijeet Singh Parmar and Kushal Srivastava and directed by Oni Sen.

Operation Safed Sagar is slated to release on Netflix in 2026.
