Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai recently attended Taylor Swift’s concert at Wembley Stadium in London, accompanied by her husband, Asser Malik. She shared a series of vibrant photos from the electrifying evening on Instagram. The photos begin with Malala and Asser beaming at the camera, followed by a nostalgic throwback picture of Malala with her childhood friend Moniba. The sequence continues with Malala making a heart gesture, reveling in the concert with her loved ones.

In her heartfelt note accompanying the photos, Malala reflected on her memories from Swat Valley. She recounted a time when music and art were banned, and how music became a treasured gift.

"Moniba and I found the highest rock we could, climbed on top of it, and announced to our classmates and teachers that we were going to perform our new favorite song, 'Love Story,'" she wrote. "We sang with all our hearts, cherishing every moment. That’s where my Swiftie journey began. It feels magical that my first-ever proper concert would be to see Taylor Swift, singing along to every song surrounded by friends."

Malala also touched upon the current situation in Afghanistan, highlighting the return of the Taliban and the repression of music and educational opportunities for girls. She wrote, "Three years ago, the Taliban regained power in Afghanistan. Music is no longer heard on the streets, and girls and women are barred from school, work, and public life. In Swat, music made my friends and me feel confident and free. I hope for a world where every girl can enjoy music and pursue her dreams."
