SHINee’s Minho has paid a touching tribute to veteran actor Lee Soon Jae, who passed away on November 25 at the age of 91. The two shared a special bond through theatre, having performed together in the stage play Waiting for Waiting for Godot.
On November 26, Minho took to social media to mourn the loss of the iconic actor, sharing a photo of the two standing side by side on stage. Along with the picture, he wrote, “I truly felt and learned so much from being able to work with you, teacher.”
He continued, “I will never forget and will carefully keep all that you taught me. Teacher, thank you sincerely,” expressing deep admiration and gratitude for Lee Soon Jae’s guidance.
Minho made his theatre debut through Waiting for Waiting for Godot, taking on the role of Val. The experience marked a significant milestone for him, made even more meaningful by the presence of Lee Soon Jae, one of Korea’s most respected and influential actors.

Lee Soon Jae, often referred to as a master of Korean stage and screen, leaves behind a remarkable legacy spanning more than six decades. His passing has prompted heartfelt messages from colleagues, juniors, and fans across the country.
Lee Soon Jae’s funeral will be held at the Asan Medical Center in Songpa District, southern Seoul, shared his agency, SG Way Entertainment. The funeral procession is scheduled for 6:20 am on Thursday, after which he will be laid to rest at Eden Paradise Cemetery in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province.
