Kantara Chapter 1: Gulshan Devaiah’s first look as Kulashekara unveiled

The first glimpse of actor Gulshan Devaiah as Kulashekara has been released by the producers of Kantara: Chapter 1, the eagerly anticipated prequel to Rishab Shetty's popular film Kantara.

Hombale Films announced the news on Tuesday, posting the poster on its official X account with the following caption: "Introducing @gulshandevaiah as 'KULASHEKARA' from the world of #KantaraChapter1." On October 2, #KantaraChapter1 will be shown in theaters.

This revelation follows the team's introduction of Kanakavathi, played by actress Rukmini Vasanth. Since the producers revealed the film's completion in July and released a behind-the-scenes video highlighting the enormous scope and amount of work required, anticipation for the movie has been progressively growing. The film was filmed over three years with thousands of people, according to director Rishab Shetty, who described it as a "divine force" rather than merely a film.

In the making video, Rishab Shetty shared his vision: "I have a dream—to tell the story of my land to the whole world." Our beliefs, our village, and our people. This was made possible by my team's unwavering faith, 250 days of shooting, and three years of hard work. This is a divine force, not just a movie. Greetings from Kantara's world.

In Kantara: Chapter 1, Rishab Shetty plays a Naga Sadhu with superhuman abilities. The story takes place during the Kadambas of Banavasi's rule. Jayaram plays a crucial part in the movie as well. The prequel, which is being produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films, will be released in theaters across the globe in a number of languages, including Bengali, English, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, on October 2, 2025, which is Gandhi Jayanti.

Legends like Rajinikanth have praised Kantara as a masterpiece, and the prequel has already established itself as one of the most talked-about movies in Indian cinema. There are already high expectations for this movie.

The film is anticipated to be a visual extravaganza, supported by the stirring music of B. Ajaneesh Loknath, whose compositions in the first film captivated audiences, and the strong cinematic vision of Arvind S. Kashyap as cinematographer. The project, which was produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the Hombale Films banner, exemplifies the superior filmmaking that the production company has come to be known for in recent years.

Now that Gulshan Devaiah's remarkable first appearance as Kulashekara has been made public, curiosity is growing about how his persona will influence the plot of this beloved universe. On October 2, 2025, the movie is scheduled for a major global release.
