Kangana Ranaut has reportedly sold her Pali Hill bungalow in Bandra, Mumbai. According to a report by Zapkey, the actress sold the controversial property for Rs 32 crore recently. Kangana Ranaut initially purchased the property in September 2017 for Rs 20.7 crore and later took a Rs 27 crore loan against it from ICICI Bank in December 2022. The bungalow served as the office for her production house, Manikarnika Films.

Last month, a YouTube channel called Code Estate shared a video suggesting that a production house office was up for sale. While the video did not explicitly name the production house or its owner, the images and visuals led many social media users to speculate that it was Kangana’s office. In the video’s description, it was revealed that the property comes with the land it is built on and spans 285 square meters. The house, with a built-up area of 3,042 square feet, also includes a 500-square-foot parking space and two floors. The asking price for the property was Rs 40 crore.

This property has been at the center of legal controversy before. In September 2020, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) partially demolished the office, claiming illegal construction. The demolition was halted mid-way after the Bombay High Court issued a stay order on September 9, 2020. Kangana later sued the BMC, initially demanding Rs 2 crore in compensation but withdrew her claim in May 2023.

Kangana’s property sale also comes as she awaits the release of her much-anticipated film, Emergency. Originally slated for a September 6 release, the film has been delayed as it awaits certification from the censor board. Additionally, the film has been facing boycotts and calls for a ban. Various Sikh organizations, including the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and Akal Takht, have accused Emergency of misrepresenting the Sikh community and demanded the film be banned, citing concerns of character assassination and creating a negative narrative about Sikhs.
