‘Kammatam’ premieres August 29 on ZEE5: a dark, investigative Malayalam series rooted in betrayal and secrets

ZEE5 makes its Malayalam debut with Kammatam, a hard-hitting crime thriller inspired by one of Thrissur’s most shocking true events. This six-part investigative series unravels a disturbing murder case fueled by betrayal, secrets, and ethical dilemmas.

Produced by 23 Feet Productions and directed by Shan Thulasidharan, the show stars Sudev Nair in a powerful lead role, supported by a stellar cast featuring Jins, Jeo Baby, Ajay Vaasudev, Akhil Kavalayoor, Arun Sol, Sreerekha, and Jordy Poonjaa

When planter Samuel Umman dies in what appears to be a road accident, CI Antonio George suspects foul play especially after noticing a missing necklace at the scene. His investigation leads to Shaji, an auto driver with a criminal history, but the case takes a darker turn when Shaji is found dead in a quarry.

A mysterious two-wheeler spotted near a construction site hints at a larger conspiracy, slowly drawing Antonio toward Francis, an unassuming worker from Samuel’s plantation. As layers of deception unfold, Antonio uncovers a haunting trail of buried secrets and unspoken truths
