Taking to Instagram, Kajol shared a series of pictures from the pandal and penned an emotional caption in which she admitted missing their close ones whom they lost this year.

Kajol has always celebrated Durga Puja with her family at the annual North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja, but this year the festival carried a different kind of emotion for her.

In March, her uncle Deb Mukherjee, who played an important role in organising the celebrations, passed away at the age of 83. His absence was deeply felt by the entire family.

Taking to Instagram, Kajol shared a series of pictures from the pandal and penned an emotional caption in which she admitted missing their close ones whom they lost this year.

She wrote, “The unveiling… such an emotional moment… to step on the pandal after this past year and all our losses, somehow it was dearer and at the same time so tough to do… we miss them all.” Her words reflected the pain of celebrating the festival without loved ones who had always been an integral part of it.

While her cousin Rani Mukerji chose a sophisticated white saree with a floral border, Kajol looked stunning in a cream silk saree with a red blouse.

Kajol's sister, Tanishaa Mukerji, joined them in donning a lemon-colored saree, while their cousin, filmmaker Ayan Mukerji, wore a traditional white kurta-pyjama. The family devotedly participated in the rituals together.

During the festivities, Kajol, Rani, Tanishaa, and Sharbari Mukerji hugged each other and started crying, as seen in a touching video that paparazzi posted on social media. They were obviously feeling the effects of Deb Mukherjee's absence and missing him.

Kajol’s children, Nysa and Yug, were also seen at the pandal on Sunday. In several videos circulating on social media, they were seen offering prayers and seeking the blessing of Goddess Durga alongside their mother.

The Mukerji family has always marked Durga Puja with great warmth, rituals and togetherness. But this year, the celebrations felt bittersweet — filled with devotion, yet clouded by the grief of losing a beloved family member who had been at the heart of their festive gatherings.
