The 2025 MAMA Awards are going on in Hong Kong this weekend despite uncertainty following a tragic incident that left the city reeling. For the first time in more than a decade, the high-profile K-pop awards show is returning to Hong Kong.
This year’s MAMAs revolve around the theme of “heung,” described by CJ ENM as “the distinctly Korean spirit of fun and excitement that has captivated global audiences.” While much of the original concept is set to remain, the tone of celebrations has been moderated out of respect for those affected by the disaster.
When and where to watch the 2025 MAMA AwardsThe awards will take place on November 28 and 29, 2025, at Kai Tak Stadium. The red carpet, originally scheduled for both days, has been officially cancelled. The main live broadcast will proceed as planned.
The main show began at 6:30 pm HKT, 7:30 pm KST, 4 pm IST.
Fans globally can tune in via Mnet Plus and YouTube channels Mnet K-POP, Mnet TV, M2, and KCON official, though availability may vary by region.

Uncertainty remains over whether Hong Kong legends Michelle Yeoh and Chow Yun-fat will participate. Local reports suggested they may withdraw in solidarity with victims of the tragedy.
Performance lineupRising K-pop acts izna, KickFlip, Heart2Hearts, and TWS were initially slated for red carpet performances. With that event scrapped, organisers have yet to confirm how or whether these stages will be restructured during the main show.
