Bipasha openly admitted that despite giving her 100 percent to the relationship, she was left abandoned, a reality that caused her significant emotional distress.

Bipasha Basu and John Abraham’s relationship during the early 2000s was one of the most talked-about affairs in Bollywood. Their chemistry ignited soon after they met on the sets of Jism in 2003. However, when the couple announced their breakup, fans were left heartbroken.

Though the real reason behind their split was never publicly disclosed, John had once admitted that he was not ready for marriage. On the other hand, Bipasha repeatedly hinted that John’s infidelity played a role in the breakup.

In a throwback interview, Bipasha opened up about her feelings and how she coped with the separation. While John maintained that their breakup was amicable, Bipasha refuted this, stating it was far from amicable.

In an old conversation with the Times of India, Bipasha reflected on her state of mind after parting ways with John Abraham. She said, “I felt abandoned. I was living in a lala land till then. Now sitting today I feel I was so foolish."

She elaborated on the sacrifices she had made during their nine-year relationship, adding, "During those nine years, I retracted from my work, pushed back opportunities, stood like a rock for the man I loved, did not meet people just to give that extra time to make my relationship work and then I realised that the thing I was working so hard for was gone overnight. It took me months to realise that it's over and I am abandoned. I went through a lot of pain. I used to howl, went into isolation, it hurt.”

Bipasha openly admitted that despite giving her 100 percent to the relationship, she was left abandoned, a reality that caused her significant emotional distress.

In another interview with Hindustan Times, when asked whether it is possible to be friends with an ex, the Dhoom 2 actress responded, “See if your ex is an assh*le, it's not possible. But if your ex is a good human being and things didn't gel well between you, then of course it's possible, but it depends.”
