Kajol leases Mumbai property, set to earn Rs 8.6 crore over nine years

Square Yards’ analysis reveals that the rental agreement covers a nine-year term starting November 2025.

Bollywood star Kajol Devgan has leased out a retail space in Mumbai’s Goregaon West for a monthly rent beginning at Rs 6.9 lakh, according to property registration documents accessed by Square Yards through the Inspector General of Registration (IGR). The agreement was officially registered in November 2025.

With a robust mix of residential and commercial developments, Goregaon West has become one of Mumbai's most vibrant real estate areas.

The Western Express Highway, Link Road, SV Road, the suburban railway network, and growing metro lines that facilitate daily travel provide the area with excellent connectivity. Its appeal is further enhanced by its close proximity to important commercial and entertainment centres like Andheri, Malad, and the Oshiwara District Centre (ODC).

As per the IGR documents reviewed by Square Yards, Kajol’s leased unit in Bharat Arize spans a carpet area of 1,817 sq. ft. and includes one dedicated parking spot. The registration involved a stamp duty of Rs 5.61 lakh and an additional registration fee of Rs 30,000. The tenant has also paid a security deposit of Rs 27.61 lakh.

Square Yards’ analysis reveals that the rental agreement covers a nine-year term starting November 2025. For the first three years, the rent is fixed at Rs 6.9 lakh per month. This will see a 15% increase every three years, rising to Rs 7.9 lakh for the next phase and Rs 9.13 lakh for the final three years. Over the entire tenure, Kajol is expected to earn a total of around Rs 8.6 crore in rent.

The documents also confirm that Kajol bought this retail unit earlier in March 2025 for Rs 28.78 crore.

On the professional front, Kajol recently appeared as co-host with Twinkle Khanna on the celebrity reality talk show Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle, which is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
