IIFA 2025 to honour the golden jubilee of 'Sholay'

The 2025 International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards in Jaipur promises to be a spectacular celebration of cinema, with a special focus on one of Bollywood’s most iconic films, Sholay.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the legendary film, and in honour of this milestone, the IIFA ceremony will pay tribute to Sholay at the historic Raj Mandir Cinema in Jaipur, a venue that has been synonymous with the grandeur of Indian cinema for decades.

Released in 1975, Sholay, directed by Ramesh Sippy, has since become a cult classic, known for its memorable characters, dialogues, and unforgettable music.

The film, which starred Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Hema Malini, and Amjad Khan, was a game-changer in the Indian film industry, blending action, drama, and comedy in a way never seen before. Its enduring legacy continues to influence generations of filmmakers and actors.

The silver jubilee edition of the awards, taking place in Jaipur on March 8 and 9, will celebrate cinematic excellence with honours across 10 categories, including Best Picture, Best Direction, Best Performance in Leading and Supporting Roles (Female and Male), Best Negative Role, Music Direction, and Playback Singer (Male and Female).

Raj Mandir Cinema, often referred to as the "Pride of Asia," is the perfect venue for this celebration.
