Oscar-winning actress Diane Keaton, known for her roles in Annie Hall, The Godfather and more, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 11, at the age of 79.
Several celebrities from Hollywood and Bollywood paid tribute to the veteran actress.
Leonardo DiCaprio took to his Instagram and posted a tribute on his Instagram Stories with a throwback picture with her.
He penned in the caption, “Diane Keaton was one of a kind. Brilliant, funny, and unapologetically herself. A legend, an icon, and a truly kind human being. I had the honor of working with her at 18. She will be deeply missed.”
DiCaprio played Diane Keaton’s nephew in Marvin’s Room, where she earned one of her four Oscar nominations.
Diane Keaton's Book Club co-star, Jane Fonda, also mourned the death of the veteran actress. She shared a picture of the veteran actress and expressed her disbelief with the news.
She penned in the caption, “It’s hard to believe...or accept…that Diane has passed. She was always a spark of life and light, constantly giggling at her own foibles, being limitlessly creative…in her acting, her wardrobe, her books, her friends, her homes, her library, her world view.”
Kate Hudson wrote, “We love you so much Diane.”
Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor also took to her Instagram Story and penned a tribute to Diane Keaton, listing her favourite movies of the late actress.
Kareena wrote, “Annie Hall, A true artist, rest in glory, Diane Keaton. Thank you for your joyful performances.” In another post she penned, “My favourite Diane Keaton films… The First wives club, Marvin’s Room, Annie Hall.” In another slide, she penned, “Not to forget, Something’s gotta give.”

Priyanka Chopra shattered a photo of Diane Keaton with a single-word tribute, “Queen.”
Filmmaker Zoya Akhtar also remembered the veteran actress and penned, “I've always loved independent women, outspoken women, eccentric women, funny women, flawed women. When someone says about a woman, I'm sorry, that's just wrong, I tend to think she must be doing something. Diane Keaton - RIP.”

Meanwhile, Jamie Lee Curtis also posted a picture with the caption, “What a great actress. #dianekeaton.”
Actor and producer Michael Douglas shared a picture with Diane Keaton and paid a tribute to the veteran actress in the caption.
He wrote, "RIP to my friend Diane Keaton. A heartbreaking loss of one of the greatest icons in our industry."
He added in the tribute, "I have so many fond memories of working with Diane on our film And So It Goes nearly twelve years ago. Sending my deepest condolences to the Keaton family during this difficult time."

For the unversed, Diane Keaton was born as Diane Hall in Los Angeles in 1946 to a civil engineer and a homemaker mother.
She rose to fame with her stellar performance as Kay Adams in 'The Godfather' in 1972. She starred opposite Al Pacino, which she reprised in the sequels.
