Bollywood actress Alaya F, who will soon be seen opposite Rajkummar Rao in the upcoming biopic ‘Srikanth’, spoke about how she was in awe of the actor for being so invested in the character. Rajkummar Rao plays a visually challenged person, Srikanth Bolla, in the movie, which is slated to release on May 10.

When asked if she was intimidated by Rajkummar Rao while working with him for the first time, Alaya F told Moneycontrol.com in an exclusive conversation that since the start of her career, she had worked with the likes of Saif Ali Khan and Tabu, so she wasn’t intimidated but rather was impressed by Raj’s dedication.

She told us, “I have been fortunate to have worked with really great actors right from my first film. In my first film, I had worked with Saif sir and Tabu ma'am, so that sort of helped me not be intimidated or anything like that, just because if, on your first film, you are working with such renowned actors from the industry, then you feel like you can do anything. With each film, there is a whole new sense of nervousness that comes about working with new people, especially a talented actor like Raj. He is just one of the most incredible actors and performers our country has. Just by seeing him do what he does firsthand, I have met the real Srikanth, and I am just seeing how beautifully he managed to embody Srikanth's character. And how invested he was in the entire process was just incredible and impressive.”

Alaya will be seen playing the role of Rajkummar Rao’s girlfriend and eventually his wife in the movie, which is directed by Tushar Hiranandani.

When asked the reason for agreeing to work in the movie, Alaya said Srikanth’s real-life story is very inspiring, as were the women in his life who played an important role in his life.

“Srikanth's real-life story was so inspiring that I wanted to be a part of it. My character, Swati, has a very special place in his life. She is his wife and, at that point, his girlfriend. It is so moving that there are so many women in his life who enabled him and helped him to be where he is today. And I was very grateful that I got to play this role,” she said during the conversation.

Seasoned actress Jyotika plays an important role in the movie. Alaya said, though she didn’t shoot a single scene with Jyotika, she would love to work with her in the near future.

“Jyotika ma'am and I don’t have any scenes together in the movie. I didn't get to work with her, but I have done promotions with her. I love her a lot, and it was a great time getting to know her. I hope to get to work with her soon,” she added.

Alaya was last seen in ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ with Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, and Manushi Chhillar.

'Srikanth' directed by Tushar Hiranandani is a biopic on the life of visually impaired industrialist Srikanth Bolla. Featuring Rajkummar Rao and Alaya F in leading roles, the film has been generating significant buzz ever since the trailer was released.
