Rajkummar Rao has reacted with grief and outrage to the heartbreaking death of a 23-year-old woman from Chhattisgarh, who died by suicide just ten months after her marriage.

Rajkummar Rao has expressed deep sorrow and anger over the tragic death of a 23-year-old woman from Chhattisgarh, who ended her life just ten months after her marriage.

Taking to his Instagram story on Tuesday, October 28, the actor reacted to the viral video that has left many shocked. Sharing the clip, he wrote, “Such heartbreaking news. It's high time we end this monstrous dowry practice in our country. Inspire each other to not get consumed by this practice. Say No to Dowry.”

The woman, identified as Manisha Goswami from Raipur, reportedly recorded a painful video before taking the drastic step. In the video, she accused her husband, Ashutosh Goswami, his brother, and her in-laws of harassment and abuse.

In her final message, which has since gone viral, she spoke about the physical and emotional torment she faced. “I have no option left,” she said, adding that she was “tired of life.”

She described how difficult her life had become after marriage, saying her in-laws constantly mistreated her. “I’m the eldest among my siblings, and my father is the only earning member. I’m exhausted by the constant torment from my in-laws,” she said.

Manisha also claimed that her husband assaulted her twice “without any reason,” and that her mother-in-law supported his actions. She said she faced dowry harassment and hadn’t experienced even ten days of happiness in her ten-month marriage. experienced even ten days of happiness during her 10-month-long marriage.

On the work front, Rajkummar Rao is currently producing his second film, an untitled drama about the flaws and pressures of India’s education system. The film will feature Keerthy Suresh and Tanya Maniktala in important roles.

Rajkummar was last seen in the film Maalik alongside Manushi Chhillar. It was directed by Pulkit and is now available to stream on Amazon prime Video.
