Disha Vakani new photo sparks buzz

A rare and never-before-seen photo of Disha Vakani has appeared online, bringing back happy memories and a wave of nostalgia among her loyal fans years after she left the small screen.

One of the most beloved characters on Indian television, Disha is best known for her iconic performance as Dayaben in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.

After almost eight years out of the spotlight, the recently surfaced photo has gone viral, with social media users expressing their admiration and desire for her to return.

Wearing a colourful bandhani saree draped in the traditional Gujarati fashion that became famous because of her role on the show, Disha radiates warmth and tradition in the picture. Her radiant smile is as captivating as ever, and her hands are encrusted with glittering bangles. She is seen holding a young girl with grace, which gives the photo an additional touch of love.

Disha Vakani's career started long before she became well-known on television. Before making her TV debut, this classically trained performer with strong ties to Gujarati theatre starred in a number of Hindi films.

She made her breakthrough in 2008 when she was chosen to play the lovable, eccentric, and always cheerful Dayaben. She immediately established herself as the main character of the long-running sitcom thanks to her distinctive voice, high-pitched laughter, and catchy catchphrases.

Outside of the camera, Disha found contentment in her personal life. On November 24, 2015, she married Mayur Pandya, a chartered accountant, and the two welcomed a daughter in 2017 as their first child. She left the show at this point in order to devote more time to her family. Disha's decision to stay out of the spotlight was further cemented in May 2022 when she and Mayur welcomed their second child, a baby boy.

While fans continue to wait with bated breath for any sign of her return to television, this rare glimpse has reignited admiration for Disha Vakani—not just as the beloved Dayaben, but as a performer who brought unparalleled joy into countless homes.

Until she graces the screen once more, such treasured moments remain a heartfelt reminder of her enduring legacy.
