Jr NTR's latest release, Devara: Part One, has taken the worldwide box office by storm, capitalizing on the Gandhi Jayanti holiday to boost its earnings.
The film, directed by Koratala Siva and co-starring Janhvi Kapoor, crossed the Rs 300 crore gross milestone globally after just six days. Domestically, the film raked in Rs 207.85 crore nett, marking a successful first week at the box office.
The national holiday on Gandhi Jayanti played a significant role in Devara's impressive Wednesday collection, which saw the film gather around Rs 20.50 crore nett in India. With this surge, the film continues to build momentum, benefiting from a strong response in both the Telugu-speaking regions and the Hindi market.
Devara collected approximately Rs 12-13 crore gross from the Telugu states alone on Wednesday, while the Hindi version earned around Rs 7.50-8.50 crore gross.
The six-day box office breakdown for Devara is as follows (as per Sacnilk):
Friday: Rs 82.5 crore
Saturday: Rs 38.2 crore
Sunday: Rs 39.9 crore
Monday: Rs 12.75 crore
Tuesday: Rs 14 crore
Wednesday: Rs 20.50 crore
Total: Rs 207.85 crore
This massive figure solidifies Devara as a box office juggernaut, with Jr NTR achieving the Rs 300 crore gross mark for the second time in his career, following his blockbuster success with RRR. However, Devara stands out as his first solo release to reach this milestone.
In addition to its global success, the Hindi version of Devara has performed well, amassing Rs 41 crore nett after six days. With the second weekend approaching and no major competition at the box office, it is expected to surpass the Rs 50 crore nett mark in Hindi markets.
With one more day left in its first week, the total gross collection of Devara: Part One is likely to fall between Rs 255 crore and Rs 260 crore globally, and around Rs 217-220 crore nett in India.
The film's strong start, coupled with an open window at the box office, suggests that Devara is poised for continued success in the coming weeks.
