When the seven members of the international K-pop sensation BTS—RM, Jin, J-Hope, V, Suga, Jimin, and Jungkook—came together for a special Weverse live broadcast on July 1, their fan base went into celebration mode.
Now that all members are nearing or have finished their required military service in South Korea, the group gave long-awaited updates about their plans during the emotional livestream.
The session's most significant announcement was BTS's formal confirmation that their eagerly awaited group comeback is set for spring 2026. After four years of solo endeavours, military service, and personal development, this upcoming album will be their first full group release since Proof in 2022.
RM shared that the group will start recording the new music this month, and interestingly, the creative process will begin in the United States. “Starting in July, all seven of us will begin working closely together on new music. Since it will be a group album, it will reflect each member’s thoughts and ideas. We’re approaching the album with the same mindset we had when we first started,” he said.
Alongside the album announcement, RM revealed another major update — a world tour is in the works and is slated to begin in spring 2026. “Of course, we will also be going on a tour, a world tour, starting next spring. We’ll be going to see you here and there all over the world, so please look forward to it.”
He also reassured fans that the band will maintain regular communication through Weverse live sessions and social media channels.
Jungkook added to the excitement, stating, “This time, we’re really going to go all the way back to our original mindset and gather together.” His words echoed the group’s intention to reconnect with their roots and recapture the spirit of their early days.
Visibly moved, Jimin expressed his happiness at being reunited with his bandmates and stated that they are determined to put in a lot of effort so that fans won't have to wait too long for the new music. The actual start of BTS's next chapter was signalled by the live broadcast.
