Aamir Khan visits Reena Dutta art exhibition

Aamir Khan and his former wife Reena Dutta continue to set an example of warm, respectful post-divorce ties, more than two decades after parting ways.

Their bond was on display once again when Aamir made a surprise appearance at Reena’s art exhibition at the Nehru Centre Art Gallery, where her latest collection is being showcased from November 18 to 24, 2025.

Reena shared photographs from the event featuring Aamir, as the two were seen admiring her artworks and interacting with guests.

Expressing her gratitude for his presence, she wrote, “When your ex surprises you and appears for your exhibition, Thank you Aamir for your continuous support in my art journey #dropletsofpaint #chitrasutraartacademy Drop by to see our works @Nehru Centre Art Gallery 18th to 24th Nov 2025.”

The former couple, who married in 1986, have long been known for maintaining a cordial and collaborative relationship, especially when it comes to co-parenting their children — Ira Khan and Junaid Khan.

Aamir was 21 and Reena 19 when they tied the knot, and although their marriage ended in 2002 after 16 years, the two have continued to share mutual respect and affection.

Aamir has spoken candidly in the past about their early marriage and the circumstances surrounding it. In an interview with Raj Shamani, he reflected on their youthful decision to wed, saying, “We only knew each other for just four months. We hadn’t even spent a lot of time together. We loved each other a lot. However, now when I look back, I realise we should have thought about it. Uss waqt jawaani ke josh me aap bahot sari cheezein nahi samajhte ho.”

He further clarified that his reflections were never meant to diminish his relationship with Reena, adding, “Meri Reena ke sath zindagi bahot achi kati hai. Iska aap ye matlab na nikaliye ki Reena galti thi. Ye mera matlab bilkul nahi hai. Reena is an amazing person. We’ve kind of grown up together. We respect each other, and have a lot of love for each other. But, I don’t think anyone should take such a big step in life, at such a young age, in panic.”

After his separation from Reena, Aamir went on to marry filmmaker Kiran Rao, but the two announced their divorce in 2021. He is currently in a relationship with Gauri Spratt. The couple has been together for two years.
