Shooting in Delhi became an emotional homecoming for the actress, who indulged in the city’s beloved food and even took part in a friendly culinary competition on set.

Kriti Sanon may have carved a successful path in films, but she still carries one quiet regret from her early years in Delhi, that she never got to experience the vibrant, free-spirited college life of Delhi University.

In a recent media interaction in the capital, the actress opened up about feeling envious of her younger sister Nupur Sanon, who got to live the full DU experience while she herself juggled engineering studies in a strict academic environment.

“I have studied in Jaypee Institute of Information Technology. To vo college vaali feel hoti hai na, Delhi ke DU ke campus vaali feel, North Campus vaali feel...main bahut jalti thi apni behan (Nupur Sanon) se,” Kriti said, laughing about her youthful envy. “I used to be in a uniform, really studying like a crazy person, doing engineering somewhere in Noida. So, I think I missed having that college life.”

But life had something poetic in store for her. Kriti shared that her long-held wish was unexpectedly fulfilled when she landed the role of Mukti in Aanand L Rai’s upcoming film Tere Ishq Mein. “When Aanand sir told us that we were shooting in DU, I was so excited because I had never seen that college life. That one dream got fulfilled,” she said.

Shooting in Delhi became an emotional homecoming for the actress, who indulged in the city’s beloved food and even took part in a friendly culinary competition on set. “We had a competition on who brought better food from the best places in Delhi,” she revealed.

In Tere Ishq Mein, Kriti plays Mukti, who falls for Dhanush’s intense and unpredictable Shankar. Their romance, however, crumbles before fully blossoming, plunging Shankar into heartbreak and destructive rage as he vows to burn “entire Delhi” for his lost love.

The film, first announced by Aanand L Rai on the 10th anniversary of Raanjhanaa, is set to release in theatres on November 28.
