Blake Lively pays tribute to Britney Spears as she wears the singer's dress at It Ends With Us premiere with hubby Ryan Reynolds

Blake Lively paid a tribute to singer Britney Spears at the New York Premiere of her latest movie, It Ends With Us. She walked the red carpet with her husband and actor, Ryan Reynolds, dressed in the Versace butterfly dress. The multi-coloured dress was originally worn by Britney Spears in 2002.

The mom-of-four, paid a tribute to Britney Spears and posted about it on her Instagram Story.

“Today’s mood. The ultimate queen who made us all want to sparkle and write and share our stories,” Blake Lively wrote along with a photo of Britney wearing the gown.

“Britney, us millennials all have a story of a moment, or of years that you made us want to shine and inspire awe, with strength, and joy and immensely hard work. Thank you for your example and your contribution to women telling their stories. So excited about your Biopic and all you have to come," she further mentioned in her note.

Blake Lively, plays the role of Lily Bloom in It Ends With Us, which is an onscreen adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s 2016 novel.

Blake Lively also informed the reporters on the red carpet that she isn't wearing a replica but the actual dress once worn by Britney.

"It is Britney’s actual dress,” Lively told a reporter for People at the event. “It should be in the Smithsonian or the Met, but it’s on me … I feel so lucky," she told reporters.

It Ends With Us has included Britney's 2003 hit song, 'Everytime' as a part of the tribute to the iconic singer.

Blake Lively walked the red carpet with her husband and Deadpool & Wolverine actor Ryan Reynolds.

Reynolds looked sharp in an olive green suit paired with a white floral boutonniere. Not just Ryan but his Deadpool & Wolverine co-star Hugh Jackman was there in full support of Blake Lively.

It Ends With Us will hits cinemas on Friday, August 9.
