Social media influencer Shivani Kumari entered the Bigg Boss OTT 3 house on Friday (June 21). Shivani, who is from a village near Auriya in Uttar Pradesh, has a massive fan following of over 4 million on Instagram, and she is popular for showing life in her village.
She is getting immense love from her fans and followers, but that was not the case initially.
Before entering the Bigg Boss OTT 3 house, Shivani spoke exclusively with MoneyControl.com, where she revealed how her mother was dead against her decision to make videos.
Shivani, who is a self-made woman, said she wanted to study and started making videos along with her studies. Shivani was the youngest of the four sisters. She said life has always been a struggle since her birth.
Shivani lost her father when she was just one, and life was very difficult in the village.
But she decided to create videos about her village life, and now, thanks to the videos, she has constructed the biggest house in her village and also has a car.
Shivani says going inside the Bigg Boss house is like a dream come true for a girl who has come from a village. I hope I can make my mother proud.
"I am going to Bigg Boss, and it was my dream to be a part of this show. My dream is getting fulfilled, and I am really happy. I come from a very poor house; I don't have my father; we are four sisters. There were girls in the house earlier too, but when the fourth girl was born, there was no happiness in the house, and the parents were worried about how they ran the house. And one year later, my father also expired. There was a lot of trouble," Shivani told us.
Shivani said her mother was instigated against her by the villagers, who called her a 'nachaniya,' and her mother even stabbed her.
"Along with my studies, I started making videos as well; people would troll me and oppose this. The villagers spoke against me and misled my mother by saying that your daughter is a nachaniya (dancer). People would say that our children would get spoiled after seeing you. If her father were there, then you would understand that what she was doing was wrong. This work is not right. But I know that it isn't bad, and it will make me famous. Mummy beat me so much that she even pulled out my hair and stabbed me with a knife. She said, Don't ruin my name. Mummy used to abuse me a lot; she told me to stop making these videos, but I did not stop making the videos. And after making the videos, I put in so much hard work, and when the videos started going viral, people showered me with their love," she added.
Shivani said her elder sister and her six children live with them, and she has a lot of responsibilities on her shoulders and wants to make all of them proud.
"I have given everything to my family now; we have the biggest house in the village. I have two homes in the village and a car. But she still feels that it would have been good if it were a son. My mother is alive, and because of me, I get medicines worth Rs 20,000 every month. This is a very big thing for me because, at one point, there was no money at all. Even now, when I explain this to mom, she says that the boy will be no less, but she never says from her heart that Shivani will be no less than my boy. Even in my videos, she doesn't feature happily," said Shivani.
Shivani says if she wins Bigg Boss, then she will be an inspiration for hundreds of girls like her who have no say in their lives.
"I have come to Bigg Boss now, and if I win it, then I hope one day my mother will say that she is no less than a boy. And I have also entered Bigg Boss for those girls who are not allowed their right to education. They are married without their wishes, and I want to be an inspiration for them. If I win, then it will not be my victory but theirs," she added.
Talking about competing with actors, Shivani said she is good at her work and she doesn't compete with anyone else.
"If they are actors, then I am also good at what I am doing. I don't compare myself to anybody. I can't compare myself to anybody; I am different. I have immense faith in my social media family; they will support me," she says.
On being asked if she will be able to live in the Bigg Boss house locked from the outside world with strangers?
Shivani said, "I will not have any problem with Bigg Boss because my home is like Bigg Boss. I have seen so many fights; Big Boss house fights are nothing in front of them."
What is the reaction of the people in the village?
Shivani: "Earlier, these people used to say that they were dancers; now the same people say that they should make a video like Shivani. Today he inspires his children that they want their daughters to follow in my footsteps."
Shivani says her favourite contestant was Bigg Boss 13 winner Siddharth Shukla, and she started watching Bigg Boss because of him.
Shivani entered the Bigg Boss OTT house yesterday and also had some verbal altercations with Ranveer Shorey over the bed.
